Parental Control Terms & Condition

To sign up for Parental control, the customer is required to have an active broadband connection with ASTCA.
To enable Parental control features, additional equipment is required including a mobile app that is connected to the active ONT device for customer to manage account.
Customer can opt to sign up for the semi-annual or annual subscription with payment due upon sign up.
Subscriptions will come with both Protect IQ and Experience IQ.
Customer will be billed upfront for 6 months or 12 months based on the plan of their choosing.
The equipment is offered to the customer for purchase upfront, or in installments which will be billed monthly based on the plan of their choosing. Price is subject to change and may not be the
same based on inventory and supply.
Should a customer default on device installment payment at any time, the charge is reflected on the customer’s account and payments made to the account may be applied towards the overall bill which includes the device installment monthly recurring charge.
The customer bill will reflect the monthly device installment charge in addition to other active ASTCA services.

Parental control subscription is on a use it or lose it basis. Should the customer wish to opt out of the plan, they will forfeit the remainder of the plan. This also applies if the customer’s subscription is affected due to non-payment of broadband services.
If at any time during the month, the customer reports experiencing issues with connectivity affecting the parental control feature, ASTCA will investigate the matter and provide a pro-rata credit towards the customer’s broadband bill if the issue was caused by ASTCA’s network performance
Customer can upgrade subscription at any time; however, should customer wish to downgrade subscription, customer must wait until the subscription period is over to make changes
Customers can renew subscriptions when subscription period is over and does not require to pay the monthly MRC for the device installation unless the customer opts to purchase a new device.
ASTCA reserves the right to alter or end this product at any time which is subject to price/rate changes with notice to subscribers.
ASTCA is offering the Parental control feature as a service or product through its subscribers’ fiber to the home broadband connection via the Gigaspire equipment connected to the ONT device. Parental control is a solution to protect families at home from being exposed to illegal and inappropriate adult content which includes but is not limited to gambling, violent and sexually based material.
When activated or enabled, this solution will allow parents and caretakers to block content they wish to. However, it will only protect the devices connected to the home network while connected to the home broadband connection; and while the Parental control service feature is active, properly configured, and turned ON. This solution cannot protect devices connected to any other wired or wireless network outside of the home. ASTCA is not responsible for content accessed outside of the network or while connected to another network.
Access to and the management of Parental Control service is managed via a mobile device through a mobile app called Command IQ that can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play. The account holder is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of passwords and account information to access the Parental Control feature. The account holder is responsible for safekeeping and updating login credentials. The account holder is responsible for all activities that occur within the account and agrees to notify ASTCA immediately of any suspected, unauthorized use of the account.
ASTCA will not be responsible in any way for any loss, or failure of the product, that may be incurred as a result of any unauthorized use of the account and password.
ASTCA does not warrant, guarantee or make any representations regarding the use, or the results of use of the Parental Control solution, or written materials in terms of accuracy, reliability, correctness, completeness, currentness or otherwise. ASTCA does not warrant that the Parental Control solution will prevent total access to offensive, inappropriate, or obscene material of any description.
ASTCA Parental Control solution is not intended to replace the supervisory activities of the parents and caretakers and does not by any means relieve the parents of their duties and responsibilities for the supervision of their children’s actions and care for their wellbeing, online safety and security.
